One of the main aims of the SAIMH is the dissemination of knowledge. Celebrating 40 years of existence, SAIMH has over the years offered courses to aspiring students who want to pursue careers in the materials handling field.
The money gained from this initiative will then be given back into education in this field by putting together more courses and projects that will empower the youth and educate them.
Materials Handling can represent up to 60% of the cost of finished products reaching the end user. Industry needs to contain these costs by improving levels of knowledge of all participants to increase productivity and profitability.
This course is designed to provide entry level information about belt conveyor systems. It is for persons in the bulk material handling industry and should suite all persons with a basic education.
Study the course material and proceed through the topics at your own speed and leisure. The course is free.
On completion of your studies and if you would like to obtain a certificate of compliance from the SAIMH, please request an assignment using the form below.
On completion of the assignment it has to be submitted for assessment and marking.
Successfull students will be given a Certificate of Compliance, as well as membership to the SAIMH.
To get the assignment and to have it assesed a handling fee of R 1 000.00 is required.

On completion of course Level 1 you may enrole for Level 2 which will have a primary focus on the mathematical approach to belt conveyor design.
