Company Membership
Companies within the broad spectrum of Materials Handling are offered
Affiliate membership of the Institute and appoint a person, who will then
have full membership facilities associated with the position to avail
himself of all the opportunities offered to individual members.
All
information will then be available to the company as a whole and they are
invited to participate fully in the activities of the Institute.
Opportunities exist to assist with various development projects and events
that may be in process
From
time to time and thereby creating a potential marketing platform for your
organisation.
Facilities are available for inclusion within the Institute Web Site of
your company logo, Area of Operation and links to your own personal Web
Site. This service is provided free of charge and allows members and the
general public access to your products and services.
The
extension of web facilities to include Technical information will also
allow you to present under your banner information to students and
members. This information is not intended as a marketing tool but if
sufficient people use your information the ultimate exposure to business
opportunities will be increased.
Member
companies are also invited to submit electronically for publication
details of new products and services they have available and these will be
included in the relevant sections of the Web Site.
The
extent of your participation will determine the level of exposure that
your company will attain through the Institute Web Site. The more
information available the better will be the exposure for both your
company and the Institute.
Information offered for publication on the Web should be provided
electronically and will be subject to editing prior to publication.

As a technical institute
looking to the future, we are offering the opportunity for related
companies to join us in the re-development phase of our industry.
The concept of an
institute committed solely to individual members within materials handling
industry came under review resulting in a Company Affiliate Membership
category being introduced to accommodate companies operating in or
associated with the broad field of Materials Handling.
Educational Approach
One of the main aims of
the Institute is the dissemination of knowledge within its own sphere of
endeavor and this is accomplished through an active website.
Lecture sessions, seminars and conferences complement this aim.
Commitment to Industry
During its 30 years
service to the Materials Handling Community, the SAIMH has become
recognised as a progressive force for positive change within the industry.
The Institute remains dedicated to the advancement of sound techniques and
practices and to assisting its members through the provision of
information, which can lead to increased efficiency and effectiveness
under the operational conditions.

Entitlements

To delegate one
employee of the company or branch as its nominated representative to
participate in general membership functions free of charge, with the
exception of conferences, seminars, workshops, etc., where an attendance
fee is imposed.

To benefit from the
privileged rates applicable to members for all bona fide employees
registered by the company as delegates to conferences, seminars and
workshops, etc., presented by the SAIMH.

Authority to use SAIMH
logos declaring their affiliation to the S A Institute of Materials
Handling on company letterheads and other official company stationery.

To have its company
named in all published lists of SAIMH Company Affiliates.

To display a
Certificate of Affiliation (this remains the property of the SAIMH).

To receive one copy
monthly of the official journal of the Institute free of charge.

The right to rebates on
advertising space tariffs in Institute publications.

The right to purchase
items of SAIMH apparel.

The right of access to
reference library information.

The option to
participate in organised group visits to specialised exhibitions and
conferences outside the country.

The right to appoint
two employees as representatives at any general or extraordinary meeting
of the Institute or its Sections but without voting rights.

free of charge. viz. Your company's logo, contact details and services
will be on our website and will offer hyperlinks to your website.
